The College trains optometrists to specialist level. It is not itself a clinic — but understanding what a Fellow of the College is trained to do can help you find the right care.
A Fellow of the Nigerian College of Optometrists (FNCO) has completed at least four years of supervised specialist training beyond their optometry degree, passed professional examinations, and defended an original research dissertation. The fellowship is a mark of consultant-level competence in a defined specialty.
Finding Care
The College does not run a public clinic or hold a directory of practising Fellows for patient referral. For treatment, please consult a registered optometrist in your area or a hospital eye department. Optometrists in Nigeria are registered and regulated by the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN).
