Faculty Program

Cornea and Contact Lenses

A specialist residency in corneal assessment and advanced contact lens practice, including the complex and medically indicated fits that general practice cannot serve.

Program Overview

Cornea and Contact Lenses covers corneal anatomy, physiology and pathology alongside the full contact lens armamentarium — soft, rigid gas permeable, scleral, orthokeratology and prosthetic designs. Emphasis is placed on keratoconus and irregular corneas, post-surgical fitting, dry eye and ocular surface disease, and the management of contact lens complications.

Vision

To build national capacity in specialty contact lens practice so that patients with irregular corneas need not travel abroad for care.

Mission

To train specialists who combine rigorous corneal diagnostics with the fitting skill required for medically indicated lenses.

Program Structure & Duration

Duration: 4 Years Minimum
Award: FNCO in Cornea and Contact Lenses
